So how do you build a high-ranking website, aka one that shows up at the top of search results?  Lucky you, I’ve build dozens of high-ranking websites, and I’m going to share the mindset you need to have about your website.  When you’re clear on purpose and audience, your site will rank!  So let’s talk websites…

High Ranking Websites Can Be Created By Robots

Search results are based on AI’s understanding of what you typed.  The robots of the internet are going to look for specific words on a website that match the words in a search bar.  This means that to simply have a high-ranking website for a Google search, technically you could trust AI. But here’s a more important question, “Do real people actually connect with what AI has written?”

People Love Websites That Speak To Them

If I visited a website that had sentences full of the words I searched for, I may close the browser. Why, if it has all the things I searched for? Because I want to read something that feels like it is speaking to me. I don’t want to read a bunch of canned sentences, I want to read something that makes sense.  Let me show you what I mean…

To build a high ranking website, it’s important to focus on search engine optimization (SEO). This includes using relevant keywords throughout the site, creating high-quality content, and building backlinks from reputable sources. It’s also important to ensure that the site is mobile-friendly and has a fast loading speed, as these factors can impact search rankings.

That paragraph was written by AI. It is all accurate and true. But if you aren’t a web developer or designer, what does it actually mean to you?  It has all the right words and clear sentences, but it may not speak to you where you’re at.

Create a Website That Speaks to Robots and People

So how do you bridge the gap between all the technical requirements and the needs of human interaction? I recommend writing what you want your website to say in your own voice, and then edit. Look for some words that people would search for on Google, and include them a few times.  Then, add images that enhance what you’re saying. There should be more text than images, but they will help to break up the text. Finally, link any of your sources or additional resources in the text. These three things will naturally boost your search rankings for people and Google.

People Charge a LOT for SEO Optimization. Why?

There’s a big difference between having some organically searchable content and having a website that is optimized to be high-ranking. When you hire someone to optimize your site, they should be optimizing the code, images, text, links, speed, and more of your site. It is much more in-depth than the tips I’m sharing in this article, because it isn’t for developers! It’s for business owners who want to boost their search results.

What should I Do First?

Get clear on what your target market is searching online. If you are a nail tech who does amazing, complex designs, your ideal audience is likely women who appreciate looking good. They probably also have their own sense of style. So you would want to include phrases like “unique beautiful nails,” “high fashion nails,” and then words that describe whatever is trending for nail fashion at the time. These are the things people are going to be searching to find nail techs like you! This is the first thing you should do when you begin to work on improving your website’s searchability.
